We believe in one living and true God, Infinitely perfect; and that He has revealed Himself in the Holy Scriptures to His people as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the same in essence and equal in every divine perfection, but different in function and distinct in personality. (Exodus 20:1-3; Isaiah 46:9; Mark 12: 29; John 10:30; 14:9; 16:7-15; Matt. 28:19.
ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
We believe that the Son, who is the Word of the Father, took man’s nature of the Virgin Mary, so that two whole and perfect natures, the Godhead and Manhood were joined together in one Person, Christ, who is perfect Man and perfect God; who suffered, was crucified, died to be a sacrifice not only for original guilt, but also for the actual sins of man, and was buried and was raised alive to reconcile us to the Father. (Philippians 2:6-8; John 1:1,14; Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 20:28; Romans 5:18-21; 1Peter 2:24; 3:18; Hebrews 1:8; Ephesians 2:16).
ABOUT HIS RESURRECTION & INTERCESSION
We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ did bodily rise again from the dead, and ascended into heaven, and there sits at the right hand of God, where He lives to intercede for the redeemed. (I Corinthians 15: 20; I Peter 1: 3; Hebrews 1: 3; 7: 25; I John2: 1).
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Trinity, was sent to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, to affect the new birth, to be the One in whom all believers are baptised into the Body of Christ, to permanently indwell them, to lead them into all the truth, and to equip them with spiritual gifts for ministry in the Church and in the world, and to glorify Christ in all He does. (John 16: 7,8,13,15; Acts 2: 33; John 3: 6-9; Ephesians 4: 30; I Corinthians12: 7, 11, 13; Romans 8: 9; John 16: 14).
ABOUT THE BIBLE
We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the inspired, inerrant Word of God, and contain all things necessary to salvation, godliness and service, so that whatever is not found in the Holy Scriptures and cannot be proved by them is neither to be required as an article of faith, nor to be regarded as necessary for salvation. (2 Peter 1: 21; 2 Timothy 3: 16, 17; 2 Peter 1: 3; John 10: 34, 35; Luke 16: 17).
ABOUT HUMAN BEINGS
We believe that man was created in a holy and happy state, but by his disobedience to the laws of his Creator, he not only exposed himself to personal misery, but involved his whole posterity in the temporal and eternal consequences of sin; and as an effect of his sin, the whole human race is alienated from God and born with a depraved nature by which each member is disinclined to things morally good and left to themselves will choose and delight in evil. (Genesis 1: 27, 31; Ecclesiastes 7: 29; Genesis 3: 6-24; Romans 5: 12; John 3: 6; Psalm 51: 5; Romans 8: 7; 6: 23; Ephesians 2: 1-3; Romans 1:32; 3: 10-18; Jeremiah 13: 23; Matthew 25: 46).
We believe that the only way of salvation from this state of guilt and eternal condemnation is through the righteousness and atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ, and faith alone in Him, who is now exalted as Lord and Savior, to give repentance and forgiveness so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. (Isaiah 53: 4-8; John 10: 9-11, 15; Acts 4: 11, 12; 5: 6, 8-11, 21; Romans 3: 21-26; 6: 23; John 3: 16, 36; Ephesians 2: 8).
ABOUT ETERNAL SECURITY
We believe that Christ died as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins and rose again for our justification; and that we have the fullest assurance that those truly born of the Spirit shall never be lost, and that those who die in the Lord shall rise again to a glorious immortality. Wherefore it is the duty of all believers to give diligence to their calling and election by sincere and willing obedience to the commands and teachings of God’s Word. (John 10: 28; Philippians 1: 6; Romans 8: 28-39; 4: 25; 5: 18; 1 Corinthians 15: 3, 52,53; 2 Peter 1:10; Hebrews 6: 11, 12).
We believe that Christ will visibly return to earth with great glory and that the just and the unjust will be raised; all those justified in Christ will be raised incorruptible and together with the righteous living, who will be changed in a moment, shall be rewarded according to their deeds done in the body and received into Christ’s kingdom and glory, and so shall they ever be with the Lord, all those not justified in Christ, shall be judged by shall suffer shame and everlasting contempt and forever be separated from the Lord’s presence in Hell.
(Hebrews 9: 28; Titus 2: 13; Colossians 3:4;Acts 24: 15; 1 Corinthians 15: 52; 2 Corinthians5: 10; 1 Thessalonians 4: 16, 17; Daniel 12: 2;Revelation 22: 11).
ABOUT CORPORATE WORSHIP
We believe that it is our specific duty and privilege to assemble regularly in order to worship God in a public manner, to offer up our corporate prayers and thanksgiving, to attend to the preached Word, and to fellowship with one another for encouragement and edification as members together of His Body. (John 20: 1, 19, 26; Acts 20: 7; 1Corinthians 16: 1, 2; Colossians 3: 16; Romans 12: 5).
ABOUT BAPTISM AND THE LORD’S SUPPER
We believe that Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ, to be continued until His second coming. We believe that water Baptism of a believer in Christ, in the name of the Father and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, demonstrates the believer’s faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, and is a testimony whereby the believer acknowledges his death to sin and his resurrection to a new life through his identification with Christ.
We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a provision of the bread and the cup, partaken of by believers in Christ in commemoration of the suffering and death of the Lord, Jesus Christ; that it shows their faith and participation in the merits of His sacrifice, and their hope of eternal life through the resurrection from the dead; that it is a present fellowship with the Lord; that its observance is to be preceded by faithful self-examination. (Matthew 28: 19; John 3:23; Acts 2: 41, 42; 2: 36-39; 1Corinthians 11: 23-26; Matthew 26: 26-29; Mark 14: 22-25; 1Corinthians 10:16; Romans 6: 3-5; 1Peter 3: 20-21).
ABOUT THE CHURCH
We believe that the church of Christ is His Body, holy, universal, and of which all true believers are members; that in its local expression it is a congregation of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, irrespective of nationality, language or denomination affiliation, who associate together by covenant and fellowship of the gospel, who observe the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper; whose purpose is to reveal God’s wisdom and declare His glory on earth; who exercise the gifts and privileges of His Word for mutual edification and the proclamation of the gospel throughout the world, whose officers are overseers and deacons, whose qualifications and roles are set forth in the New Testament.
(Acts 2: 41, 47; 11: 21-23; 1 Corinthians 1: 1-13; 4: 17; 14: 23; 3 John 9:2; 2 Corinthians 8: 1-5; Matthew 28: 20; Galatians 6:2; 1Timothy 3; Titus 1:6-9; Acts 6: 1-7; Ephesians 3: 10).
